Johnson Hall
Originally built in 1874, Johnson Hall has undergone multiple renovations, but the exterior of the building is historically accurate to the original. It is an academic building that houses classrooms and faculty offices for languages as well as other humanities and social sciences courses. Originally called Language Hall, this building was renamed in October 2021 to honor Horace Johnson, Jr., a graduate of Oxford College who became the first Black person to serve as a Superior Court judge in the Alcovy Judicial Circuit.

⭐ Study Abroad
Oxford students are eligible to participate in Emory College's 120 study abroad programs in 40+ countries. There are opportunities both during the semester and in the summer. Travel courses are a unique Oxford program where students take a course during the spring semester on the Oxford campus that has a travel component, either during spring break or at the start of the semester as soon as the semester ends. This is a great option for students who don’t want to spend a whole semester away from Oxford but still want to travel abroad for a class. The travel destination connects to the topic of the class, such as a course about Roman history that travels to Italy in May or a tropical ecology class that visits the Bahamas over spring break.
