Residence Halls
Oxford is an all-residential campus, meaning all first and second year students live together in the 4 residential communities on campus: the Jolley Residential Center (JRC), Haygood Hall, Murdy & Elizer Halls, and Fleming Hall. The JRC is the oldest residence hall on campus and is made up of four residence halls (Dickey, Bonnell, Stone, and Dowman), which were connected for the 1996 Olympics so that athletes beinq housed there could speak with their coaches and teammates without having to leave the building. Haygood Hall, completed in 1989, is the smallest residence hall on campus, making it a tight-knit community. Murdy & Elizer Halls (mentioned together because they share amenities and are one residential community) were the first LEED gold-certified buildings on campus. Fleming Hall is the newest residence hall, completed in 2014 with student input.

⭐ Residential Amenities
All the residence halls on campus have the same amenities, including free washers and dryers, a shared kitchen, a small gym with cardio machines, study spaces, and TV lounges. Students can choose whether they would like to live on a co-ed, single-gender, or gender-inclusive floor. Most dorm rooms are doubles, though there are a few singles and triples, and first-years can either find their own roommates through the class Facebook or Instagram page, or they can fill out an extensive housing questionnaire that Oxford will use to pair them with another student who has similar living preferences.
⭐ Resident Assistants & Residence Life Coordinators
Resident Assistants (RAs) are second-year students who are a resource for the residents living on their floor. They help connect students to resources on campus, work through roommate conflicts, and ensure the floor is a safe and supportive living environment for students. RAs also create bonding events for neighbors to get to know each other, including holiday celebrations and floor dinners. Residence Life Coordinators (RLCs) support the RAs and are hired to manage the staffing, programming, and facilities for each residence hall.
⭐ Student Health, Counseling, and Career Services
Located on the first floor of Murdy Hall, Student Health Services (SHS) provides appointments for students with a staff of board-certified nurse practitioners and a board-certified internal medicine physician. SHS offers consultations, free flu shots in the fall, wound care, and delivery service of prescribed meds from the local pharmacy, all covered by tuition. The first floor of Murdy Hall also houses Counseling and Career Services. Licensed mental health providers offer free and confidential individual counseling services as well as group workshops. Career Services provides help to students who are exploring career options, choosing a major, considering professional and graduate school, or trying to find internship opportunities, as well as giving students feedback on their resumes, cover letters, and other application materials.
