⭐ Academic Advising
Located on the first floor, the Advising Support Center provides walk-in or scheduled advising appointments for students throughout the year. Any student can consult an academic advisor for questions about degree requirements, course registration, or choosing a major. The Advising Support Center is active in ensuring students have access to the resources and information they need to thrive. In addition to campus-wide resources, the Advising Support Center also works with students pursuing study-abroad opportunities and aids in facilitating the academic transition to Atlanta.
⭐ Coca-Cola University
Emory University boasts a vibrant history with the Coca-Cola Company, a history with roots in Oxford’s historic campus. On the third floor of Seney, students can enjoy a quiet moment of studying in the Woodruff Room, named after the former Oxford student and later Coca-Cola CEO Robert W. Woodruff. While Woodruff attended school at Oxford, his time was brief—the Woodruff Room houses a signed letter from the then-President Dicky asking Woodruff to leave because of poor academic performance! Regardless, Woodruff embraced Emory University as his alma mater and eventually donated $105 million in Coca-Cola stock to the school in the 1970s. His donation forms the basis of Emory’s now $11 billion endowment.
⭐ Barcode the Zebra
On the third floor, students can find a large stuffed zebra, affectionately named “Barcode” by the student body. The plush animal commemorates a small prank in Oxford’s history: in 2007, students conspired to borrow a live zebra from a local farm and release him on the third floor of Seney. While the actual Barcode is long gone, his legacy lives on in the stuffed substitute.
