FAMU-FSU College of Engineering
The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is located at Innovation Park. Innovation Park in Tallahassee, Florida has been the hub of scientific research in North Florida for decades. Our university-based research park is overseen by the Leon County Research and Development Authority (the Authority). Among the partnerships highly valued by the Authority are those with Florida State University, Florida A&M University, and Tallahassee Community College, as well as those with governmental and industrial sector representatives.

🏫 FAMU-FSU College of Engineering
Establishment in 1983, the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is a joint program with Florida A&M University and Florida State University. This university partnership benefits from a top HBCU and research one university alliance which allows for world-class engineering education at a fraction of the cost. Because of this partnership, the college is located at Innovation Park about halfway between the universities and offers bachelor’s degrees in biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, industrial, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering. Last year, the college earned the Bronze Award and Exemplar status from the American Society of Engineering Education’s Diversity Recognition Program in its inaugural year, highlighting our commitment to produce a more diverse mix of engineering professionals.
Students entering FSU right out of high school will still take most of their general education courses on the main campus and will gradually add more courses at the College of Engineering, culminating in their senior design project in their final year. Students can partner with our College of Entrepreneurship through the Pathways to Innovation program. Established in 2015, this program gives engineering majors the opportunity to combine their engineering skills with commercial product development, even pitching their business plans to professionals at the annual Engineering Shark Tank.
